Three or five vertical lines in an "M" shape almost always appear on the forehead, along with dark lines from the corners of the eyes, one or more crossing each cheek, and of course many stripes and lines at various angles on the neck and shoulder area, on the flanks, and around the legs and tail, marks which are more or less perpendicular to the length of the body part. These stripes can be continuous or broken into bars and short segments/spots, especially on the flanks and stomach. ![]() ![]() The mackerel, or striped, tabby pattern is made up of thin vertical, gently curving stripes on the sides of the body. Patterns Typical tabby patterns in the head region: An 'M' on the forehead, bright eye rims and borders of the ears The notion that tabby indicates a female cat may be due to the feminine proper name Tabby as a nickname of " Tabitha". Use of the term tabby cat for a cat with a striped coat began in the 1690s and was shortened to tabby in 1774. Such silk cloth became popular in the Muslim world and spread to England, where the word "tabby" became commonly used in the 17th and 18th centuries. This word is a reference to the Attabiya district of Baghdad, noted for its striped cloth and silk itself named after the Umayyad Governor of Mecca Attab ibn Asid. This can be further traced to the Middle French atabis (14th century), which stemmed from the Arabic term عتابية / ʿattābiyya. The English term tabby originally referred to "striped silk taffeta", from the French word tabis, meaning "a rich watered silk". Etymology A 19th-century drawing of a tabby cat One genetic study of domestic cats found at least five founders. ![]() The tabby pattern occurs naturally and is connected both to the coat of the domestic cat's direct ancestor and to those of their close relatives: the African wildcat ( Felis lybica lybica), the European wildcat ( Felis silvestris) and the Asiatic wildcat ( Felis lybica ornata), all of which have similar coats, both by pattern and coloration. "Tabby" is not a breed of cat, but a coat pattern found in many official cat breeds, and is very common among the general population of mixed-breed cats around the world. It is thought that the tabby pattern originates from the numerous related species of wildcat.Ī tabby cat, or simply tabby, is any domestic cat ( Felis catus) with a distinctive 'M'-shaped marking on its forehead stripes by its eyes and across its cheeks, along its back, and around its legs and tail and characteristic striped, dotted, lined, flecked, banded, or swirled patterns on the body-neck, shoulders, sides, flanks, chest, and abdomen. It shouldn’t have trouble working with any media device capable of being displayed on it. This 12 volt TV DVD combo comes with HDMI, USB, and AC ports. Its numerous amounts of input and output should intrigue buyers too. Those bumpy terrains and vibrations should have no impact on its longevity. The brand designed it for RV usage to ensure it can handle the wear and tear of traveling. ![]() This model’s durable design was another standout highlight. Plus, this picture is displayed on a 24-inch screen that should be visible anywhere in your rig. It offers a crisp 1080p picture quality, which should have no issues mimicking your home viewing experience. I was also impressed by this TV’s picture quality. You won’t have to worry about it eating your movies or CDs like with other subpar models. Multiple buyers made an effort to note this aspect worked without causing any issues. You can expect this DVD player to be top-quality as well. ![]() This model comes with a built-in DVD player that will play your movies without needing any other equipment. If you’re looking for a 12 volt TV with DVD player, SuperSonic’s SC-2412 LED Widescreen 12 Volt RV TV needs to be on your list. So this aspect has been a godsend when I’m traveling as I can bring along my favorite discs and watch them without an issue. It might not seem like a big deal to most RVers, but I’m a massive DVD hoarder. Sadly, this aspect is often an issue with other notable 12V TV for RV options.Īnother beneficial aspect is the built-in DVD player. It has top-tier built-in speakers to ensure I don’t have trouble hearing it during travel. The sound quality was another area where this model excels. In my case, I went with the 19-inch model as it’s a perfect size for my trailer and mounting equipment. Buyers will have a choice between five options ranging from 13.3-inch to 32-inch. I’m also a massive fan of this model’s various size options. So I’ll have access to HBO, Showtime, Netflix, and almost every streaming service when traveling. It allows me to connect a Roku or Amazon Fire Stick to the TV. Moreover, I never have to miss my weekly shows with its HDMI and USB compatibility. Due to this, there shouldn’t be any issue finding an ideal setup for every user. Each user can select between standard, dynamic, and many more. SuperSonic even offers multiple picture modes to ensure users feel comfortable with this TV’s picture. Its outstanding 1080p resolution makes it seem like I’m watching my favorite movies on home TV. However, the SuperSonic’s SC-1912 LED 12V TV bypasses my low expectations. I notice that excellent picture quality is challenging to come across with 12-volt TVs.
![]() ![]() At one point, an activist lunged over the railing between the crowd and the dais to shout, “I will fucking find your ass,” at council member Jason Winston, a ring of cops separating the two. Dozens of cops hovered at the edges of City Hall’s atrium as hundreds of people waited hours and hours for their turn to voice their opposition. Delivered to you.Īnticipating a potential disruption, Mayor Andre Dickens closed City Hall for regular business on Monday and banned outside liquids in the building, airport security-style. City officials are quietly arguing that this was always the cost and that everyone has simply been mistaken, despite no real effort made to correct that mistake before local journalists at the Atlanta Community Press Collective dug closely through the figures.īut here’s the thing: The Atlanta City Council still voted to fund Cop City early Tuesday morning, by a vote of 11-4. That public cost is about twice as high as was reported in late 2021 when the proposal was first authorized and comes after nearly two years of strident opposition by residents and activists far and wide. The plan calls for the city to pay about $33 million today and another $1.2 million a year for the next 30 years to cover debt for the entity building it, the Atlanta Police Foundation. A multimillion-dollar police training center, in the middle of a forest, with little transparency or recourse for voters, felt like a slap in the face to people who had been marching Atlanta flat for democracy. The city first accepted the proposal to build the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center - Cop City in the vernacular, a $90 million, 85-acre campus just outside of the city proper - while crime was rising in 2021, but also while the wounds of the George Floyd and Rayshard Brooks protests were still healing. “I have to say, I’ve followed this story from afar and only moderately closely, but I remain mystified why Atlanta officials are just so so SO intent on building this thing,” he tweeted. Last week, as Atlanta was absorbing yet another piece of bad news about its snakebit proposal for a new police and fire training facility - that it would cost the public twice as much as had been discussed - MSNBC host Chris Hayes said what much of the national audience must be thinking. ![]() Each client project gets its own folder, and with this Zap (automated workflow), making that folder automatically adds a new task in Todoist for me.
